The duration and level of funding vary for different types of studies. Graduates (master’s or postgraduate students) receive a monthly scholarship of €861. The standard financing period is two years. After obtaining unconditional admission to doctoral studies at a German university, doctoral students receive a monthly scholarship of €1,200. The standard funding period for PhD researchers is three years. We also finance a research stay in Germany of at least three semesters.
In addition to the monthly stipend, we offer multiple subsidies for our scholars. Upon request, we offer health insurance subsidies up to €120 per month. We also offer a family allowance of €276 if you and your partner live together in Germany for at least three months and your income does not exceed €450 per month. In addition, we pay a child benefit of €194 per month for children living with you in Germany. The prerequisites are the presentation of an official German translation of the child’s birth certificate and the official rejection of his or her application for public child benefit.
Additionally, doctoral students can apply for financial support to conduct research abroad. However, we do not finance participation in conferences or symposiums.
Fully Funded Scholarships 2024 (for International Students)
Fees for German university courses directly related to your studies can be reimbursed up to an amount of €1,500 per semester. However, we do not refund regular semester fees as a result of enrollment or annual reenrollment.

They become part of an active and living network. The program is based on three pillars: 1. Personal contact and guidance. 2. Our staff members and representatives at universities personally supervise and advise our academics. They monitor the progress of your studies, as well as your participation in the seminar program and the activities of your university group. Our Foundation attaches great importance to the continuous development of its social commitment. The overall goal is to help you identify and improve your personal strengths.
Seminars organized exclusively for our students aim to improve the overall education of our students. The seminars provide opportunities for the interdisciplinary exchange of ideas and information with other academics and recognized experts. The range of topics includes historical, political, economic and social issues at national, European and international level. In addition, training and counseling seminars help our academics strengthen their interpersonal skills and facilitate the transition from study to professional life.

The local university groups, “Hochschulgruppen”, are managed independently with representatives of our foundation at the universities, called “Vertraunsdozenten”. In each semester they prepare a program of various activities for themselves. These local groups will also help you settle in and acclimatize to your new surroundings.
It is of particular interest to the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung to foster networking between our current and former academics. More than 14,000 alumni form a vibrant, global network of former academics who play an active role in politics, economics, science and society around the world, while also being committed to our foundation and its current academics. . More than 50 regional alumni groups around the world and several specialized subnetworks offer great opportunities to our alumni and allow them to stay connected to our foundation. This alumni network also offers practical support: its members finance social funds that help current and former academics in case of need.
